Chilean bank CorpBanca offers a wide range of commercial and retail banking services to its customers. It also provides financial advisory services, mutual fund management, insurance brokerage and securities brokerage services through its subsidiaries. Its banking products and services include a variety of bank accounts (checking, savings, money market and foreign currency accounts), investment products (time deposits, securities, securities custody services), financing solutions (mortgage loans, consumer loans, loans to finance working capital), and credit cards. CorpBanca also offers internet banking and a range of online services, including up-to-date information on balances in deposit, checking, credit card and other accounts and transactions. CorpBanca is controlled by local businessman Álvaro Saieh's financial services group Corp Group. The company is carrying on a merger process with Brazil's Banco Itaú, which has been already approved by Brazil and Colombia regulators. In April 2016, it became effective the merger between CorpBanca Itaú Chile, creating the third largest bank in Chile in terms of loans after Banco Chile and Santander. The new bank, called Itaú CorpBanca is now controlled by the Brazilian Itaú Unibanco.
