Description

Carso Energy S.A. is the energy segment of Mexican magnate Carlos Slim's conglomerate Grupo Carso. Carso Energy, as part of a consortium, won contracts for the design, engineering, supply, construction, operation and maintenance of two gas pipelines in the state of Texas: the Waha-Presidio pipeline, with a transport capacity of up to 1.35Bf3/d, and the Waha-San Elizario pipeline, with a capacity of up to 1.45Bf3/d. In 2014, Carso Energy underwent a restructuring and it currently has two main divisions: Carso Oil & Gas, which is responsible for the leasing of oil rigs (jack-ups), exploration and production; and Carso Electric, in charge of the construction and operation of gas pipelines and other energy infrastructure.
