Description

The general directorate for rail and multimodal transport (DGTFM) is an administrative branch of Mexico's transport and communications ministry (SCT). It collects and analyzes statistical information on rail transport in Mexico in order to integrate and maintain statistical data about the Mexican Railway System (SFM). It is engaged in the efficient development of transport tariffs, rail, and multimodal transport, through monitoring, verification, and penalties for non-compliance. It also seeks to develop new infrastructure that is safe, efficient and productive, for either passenger or cargo transport. DGTFM is based in Mexico City.
