Hidroeléctrica Ituango S.A. E.S.P., a JV between Colombian state-run utility group EPM and local development institute Idea, was created to finance, build, own, operate and maintain for 50 years the 2,400MW Pescadero Ituango hydropower plant in Colombia's Antioquia department. The project was 31.5% complete in May 2015. The first four units will start commercial operations gradually in 2018, while an additional four units will start operating as of 2021. When completed, it will be the largest power station in Colombia.
