Infraestructura Enérgetica Nova S.A.B. de C.V. (IEnova), a Mexican subsidiary of US company Sempra Energy, develops, builds and operates energy infrastructure in Mexico. Its business is divided into two segments: gas and electricity. In the former, the company transports and stores natural gas and LPG, stores LNG, and distributes natural gas. In the latter, the company is involved in the generation of electricity. IEnova owns the 625MW Termoeléctrica de Mexicali combined cycle plant in Baja California and the cross-border (México-US) 155MW Energía Sierra Juarez wind farm in Tecate, Baja California, operating since 2015. In addition, in 2016 IEnova announced the closing of the acquisition of the Ventika Wind Farm (Ventika and Ventika II) in Nuevo León and the company was awarded a contract for the construction, development and operation of two solar energy generation plants: the 41MW Rumorosa Solar in Baja California and the 100MW Tepezalá II Solar project in Aguascalientes. In the gas segment, IEnova operates more than 500km of natural gas pipelines, 190km of LPG pipelines, six compression stations, and storage terminals. In 2015, the firm started operations of the country's first private ethane pipeline. IEnova is based in Mexico City and, until 2013, the company was known as Sempra Mexico.
