Empresa Nacional Minera

Company Detail

Description

Ecuador's state mining company Enami EP has a mandate to ensure the sustainable exploitation of the country's minerals and other non-renewable natural resources, while protecting the environment and community rights. The company works with small and artisan miners to help them develop sustainable businesses, and with large-scale players developing major mining projects. Created in 2010, the company is actively exploring eight prospects – two in partnership with Chilean state copper giant Codelco, including the Llurimagua copper and molybdenum project in Imbabura province, considered a strategic project by President Rafael Correa's government.
