Description

Peru's transport and communications ministry (MTC) is responsible for developing standards and applying policies and strategies contributing to the development of the country's transport and communications services, with a focus on integration of its regions. It is tasked with planning, boosting and administering the provision of public services. The stand-alone agency was created in 2002 after being separated from Peru's housing ministry. In the past decade, the ministry has been promoting and developing major projects such as Sierra's longitudinal highway and the fiber optic backbone network.
