Tecpetrol de México is a subsidiary of Argentine oil company Tecpetrol and started operations in the country in 2003. Operations are performed through two partnerships: Servicios Múltiples de Burgos (SMB) and Burgos Oil Services (BOS). SMB shareholder structure is Tecpetrol de México, 30%; Burgos Oil Services, 20% and Industrial Perforadora de Campeche, 50%. SMB's purpose is a contract signed with state owned company Pemex for the development, infrastructure and maintenance of non-associated gas in the Misión block, located in Burgos basin (Tamaulipas and Nuevo León states). BOS ‘s purpose is providing technical services for planning, engineering development, general construction, oil and gas well drilling, exploration, production and maintenance, engineering and development services at oil fields. Tecpetrol -together with Luxembourg-based steelmakers Ternium and Tenaris- is in charge of the start-up of the Pesquería power plant, that will supply TenarisTamsa and Ternium's industrial plants in México, with a total investment of US$1.000mn. The company's headquarter is located in México city.
