Petrobras launches another subsea services tender

Petrobras has launched a tender for contracting subsea engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) services for its Búzios 6 project, off Brazil’s southeast coast. 

The contract involves FPSO anchoring and subsea equipment, in addition to installations and interconnections of the production collection and gas export system.

Contract duration is 1,825 days (five years) from the date for signing. Commercial proposals must be submitted by August 4.

Búzios 6 first oil is planned for 2024 through the Almirante Tamandaré FPSO, built and operated by SBM Offshore. 

Several other EPCI subsea opportunities are also underway in Brazil, including Búzios 7, whose tender was published in March, and Shell’s Gato do Mato.

Other prospects include contracts for Petrobras’ remaining new production systems expected to produce first oil by 2025 (Itapu, Marlim 1 and  2, Integrado Parque das Baleias, Mero 3 and 4 and Búzios 8). 

Main subsea EPCI providers in Brazil include McDermott, Saipem, Sapura, Subsea 7 and TechnipFMC. 

The latter three own pipe laying vessels (PLSVs) chartered by Petrobras, which provides them with competitive advantage when it comes to flexible risers.  

The state-owned company is also in a PLSV contracting process.
