Buenaventura snaps up remaining Poracota stake

Peruvian precious metals miner Buenaventura (NYSE: BVN) said it plans to buy a 25% interest in Minas Poracota from Canada's Teck Cominco (TSX: TEK). The US$2.25mn acquisition will give Buenaventura 100% of Poracota, which has 100% of the Poracota gold project in Arequipa department. Buenaventura has been exploring the property since 2003 "with promising results," BVN said in a statement.
