Cavecom-e Draft Poised to Become Ecom Law

Namericas.com) ?An ecommerce law drafted by the Venezuelan Chamber of Electronic Commerce (Cavecom-e), Venezuela?s Chamber of Commerce and the Venezuelan-American Chamber of Commerce should become law following presidential elections, Cavecom-e president Lorenzo Lara told BNamericas.com. Representatives from the three groups met a month ago to present a law draft that regulates ecommerce transactions. Venezuela is currently seeing a flood of dotcoms in the private sector, including online car retailer Tucarro.com (www.tucarro.com) and wine site Vinos.com (www.vinos.com). The country recently became member of the First Tuesday network (www.firsttuesday.com), an international community for Internet entrepreneurs and investors. The third First Tuesday event took place in Venezuela yesterday and attracted almost 500 people, Lara said.
