Caxias do Sul Inaugurates Monitoring Equipment

Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul state city Caxias do Sul, outside state capital Porto Alegre, this week inaugurated two pieces of waste, effluent and material equipment worth R$163,000 (US$84,000) at analysis center Central Analitica do Polo de Inovacao Tecnologica da Serra, the state government announced. The center will now be able to service more Caxias analysis requests as well as requests from 31 other municipalities that use the center. Some 800,000 people live in the area. The state's Science & Technology Secretariat financed R$72,000 (US$37,000), while the Universidad de Caxias financed the rest.
