Credicoop seeks to double SME loan portfolio in 2006

Argentine cooperative bank Credicoop expects to double loans granted to the SME segment this year to 1.8bn pesos (US$587mn), local daily Infobae quoted bank executive José Luis Romani as saying. "[Argentine] SMEs are very active in seeking fresh funds to spend on capital goods," the executive reportedly said. Credicoop is Argentina's ninth largest private bank and has a nationwide presence with a distribution network of 227 branches.
