Govt. transfers Caldas airport project funds

Colombia's civil aviation director Juan Carlos Vélez Uribe has authorized the transfer of 8bn pesos (US$3.26mn) for the US$29mn Palestina regional airport project in Caldas department, government news agency SNE reported. The Spanish government will provide US$20mn in financing and Colombia's civil aviation authority Aerocivil 18bn pesos. Aerocivil already transferred a first disbursement for 580mn pesos that has allowed initial works to begin where the aerodrome's principal runway will be built, which will extend 1.8km, said Vélez.
