Meya in search of distribution channels

Bnamericas
Argentine software firm Meya plans to close distribution agreements with partners in Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile to expand its penetration in the Latin American market, Meya general director Carlos Maiztegui told BNamericas. "We are looking for partners with expertise in administration software and whose clients are using obsolete products, so they can become representatives for more modern technologies. We are planning to sign two partners in Mexico and we also have preliminary contacts in Colombia, Peru and Chile," he said. Meya expects to close 2005 with total revenues of 2.88mn pesos (US$1mn) up 20% compared to 2.4mn pesos in 2004. "Because of sales through channel partners, we should increase our revenues by an additional 30% in 2006 compared to 2005. In these figures, Mexico and Chile are expected to become the largest countries for Meya," Maiztegui added. With 15 years in the Argentine market and a subsidiary in Brazil, Meya's core product is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution aimed at manufacturing companies. "Within the next 5-7 years, the ERP market is expected to go through a very difficult time because of technological change including XML as the basic platform and web services. That process will force several providers to leave the market and others to consolidate. And we already have the technological platform to continue in this market," he said.
