South Korea, Corfo invest US$2mn in IT center

Chile and South Korea will each invest US$1mn to set up an IT center in capital city Santiago, Chile's government said in a press statement. Chile's state economic promotion agency Corfo and South Korea's National Computerization Agency are behind the venture. The center, which launches Thursday, will look to promote e-government, e-learning and web networking projects. It will be installed in the mathematics modeling center at the engineering department of the Universidad de Chile. South Korea's government has invested in a similar center in Mexico.
