PagSeguro CEO resigns

Brazilian payment solutions company PagSeguro said in a statement that its CEO, Rômulo Dias, resigned due to personal reasons.

Dias joined PagSeguro last year as CEO after having held the same post at the county's largest credit card processor Cielo.

PagSeguro - which is controlled by internet provider Universo Online (UOL) - raised US$2.3bn in 2018 from a share offering on the New York Stock Exchange.

The company is one of the new entrants in Brazil's vibrant card industry, where bigger traditional players still dominate although competition is on the rise.
