Bolivia reissues green hydrogen consultancy call

Bolivia state power company Ende has launched a second bidding process to carry out green hydrogen studies.
The consultancy work will support development of a pilot project at the 5MW Cobija solar park, which is operated by Ende Guaracachi.
A clarification meeting is scheduled for December 8 and offers for the 120-day contract are due December 15, according to procurement information. The original call was declared void after no proposals were submitted.
The alternative fuel would be used at the Bahía thermal plant in Cobija, which is the capital of Pando department in the northwest of the country.
Ende highlights that “the use of hydrogen will allow the displacement of diesel and natural gas as the primary source of electricity generation in thermoelectric plants... additionally, the reduction in diesel consumption in the isolated systems of northern Bolivia will economically benefit the country since diesel imports will be reduced and the state subsidy for the use of said fuel in the generation of electrical energy.”
