Brazil's Goiânia to invest US$265mn in infrastructure projects

Goiânia, capital of Brazil’s Goiás state, announced a plan to invest 1.4bn reais (US$265mn) in infrastructure projects.
The Goiânia Adiante plan involves replacing all streetlights for LED lamps, repaving 500km of streets and building 11 bridges, among other works, the city hall said in a release.
Of the total, 680mn reais will be used for 180,000 LED lights, providing savings of 40% in public spending, according to the local government.
Most of the works are expected to be completed in 2023, a city hall spokesperson told BNamericas.
