Brazil's next transmission auction: what's on offer?

Scheduled for December 20, Brazil's next transmission lines auction is projected to result in 13.2bn reais (US$3.47bn) in investment.

The amount compares with 6bn forecast from the latest round, which awarded all lots and registered the highest discounts on maximum prices in two decades. Higher discounts represent more potential savings for final consumemaybe revenue is better rs, as the winning consortiums' revenue will be considered when calculating electric power bills.

Bidders accepting the lowest annual revenue from operations are awarded 30-year concession contracts to build, operate and maintain power lines and associated substations.
