Dominican Republic transmission company Eted completed a transmission project in María Trinidad Sánchez province to help reinforce dispatch in the northeast as part of an Atlantic coast power loop.
In a first phase, the 138kV, 50km line will supply power to the municipality of Río San Juan and surrounding areas via an Edenorte substation, Eted said in a statement.

Colombia's wholesale power market administrator XM reported that demand in August fell 0.7% year-on-year to 5,720GWh and consumption in January-August rose 0.8% to 44,167GWh.
Power generator Isagen, meanwhile, said it raised 300bn pesos (US$100mn) from a local bond issue. Demand for the seven and 12-year bonds reached 1.2tn pesos.
