Central America power watch
Central American energy officials have authorized three solar parks in El Salvador to access the regional transmission grid (RTR).
The projects are Márquez (6MW), Trinidad (8MW) and Remedios (20MW), and belong to Proyecto La Trinidad, according to a resolution from electricity interconnection commission CRIE.
CRIE also released an update of reforms to the regional power market regulation. The 419 page document is available here

On the legislative front, Guatemala's congress reported that Sololá department residents have called on lawmaker Leocadio Juracán to push for the creation of a water law to protect basins and rivers.
The residents claim that community prior consultation has not been carried out for hydroelectric projects, and have asked to participate in workgroups and that resolutions issued by the Tribunal Latinoamericano del Agua in Guadalajara last month be considered.
And in El Salvador, the legislative assembly's environment and climate change committee agreed that seven members will make up the board of the national water authority, which is envisioned in the bill under review to establish a framework water law.
Two members would come from the environment and natural resources, and agriculture and livestock ministries, while other entities will be defined in upcoming committee sessions.
