Chile receives 4 bids for hospital project

Chile's public works ministry (MOP) received four technical bids for the project to construct the Quillota-Petorca bi-provincial hospital in the Valparaíso region (V).

Economic bids will be opened on June 29. The project has a referential budget of 105.7bn pesos (US$157mn), MOP said in a statement.

The consortiums who presented technical offers for the project are: Chilean company Besalco and Spain's Dragados; Spanish company Sacyr and its Portugal-based subsidiary Somague; and Chile's Echeverría Izquierdo and Spain's Ferrovial.

Spain's OHL also presented an independent bid for the work.

The Quillota-Petorca hospital will cover an area of 70,534m2, with capacity for 282 beds, nine surgery theatres, and three labor delivery rooms.
