Ecuador to conduct crude, fuel planning studies
Ecuador’s energy and mines ministry and national oil company Petroecuador are lining up prefeasibility studies related to crude and fuel management.
One study will focus on the transport and distribution of crude and a second will target a comprehensive improvement plan for the reception, transport, storage and dispatch of fuel.
The crude study will look at the use of electric motors to replace existing internal combustion motors at pumping stations, as well as preparing demand forecasts, among other tasks.
Addressing insufficient infrastructure for the handling of fuels is the core of the second study.
The work will fall under an IDB-financed program for the sustainable management of underground resources and associated infrastructure in Ecuador.
