Abengoa awarded Chile transmission projects

Endesa has chosen Spanish energy company Abengoa to build a 220kV power line in southern Chile that will connect the 150MW Los Cóndores hydro plant with the Ancoa substation.

Abengoa will engineer, supply, construct, install, test and commission the 87km transmission line, in Maule region (VII), the Seville-based firm said in a release.

Abengoa will also expand Endesa's Alto Jahuel, Ancoa, Charrua and Rahue substations.

All five projects have a two-year execution period.

In September, Germany's Voith Hydro was contracted to supply electromechanical equipment for Los Cóndores and install and commission it.
