Brazilian natural gas use rose 10.9% from January to July as thermoelectric plants continue to raise demand for the fuel, a new report shows.
Consumption hit 78.4Mm3/d, almost two thirds of which came from the country's southeast, according to national distributors' association Abegás.
"In the month of July alone, [consumption] growth reached 3.3% in relation to the previous month," Abegás said.
The July tally coincided with a 4.7% rise in thermoelectric generation compared with June, the association added.
