Brazilian utility Celesc issued a call for bids to expand its Celso Ramos hydroelectric plant in the southern state of Santa Catarina.
A tender for the 45mn-real (US$20mn) project is expected to be launched by the end of September, Celesc said in a statement.
The winning bidder will be responsible for increasing the plant's installed capacity from 5.4MW to 12.6MW.
The project forms part of Celesc's plans to triple its installed capacity to over 300MW by 2020.
