Brazil's Triunfo Participações received an environmental permit for the 807MW Três Irmãos hydroelectric plant in São Paulo state.
The license allows Triunfo's subsidiary, Tijoá, to operate the plant as the majority stakeholder of the Novo Oriente consortium, the São Paulo-based firm said in a statement.
Novo Oriente was awarded operating rights for the plant in March, after its former controller, Cesp, rejected new concession terms.
