Bnamericas
At least three groups submitted offers to Ecuador's state power generation holding company Celec to supervise the detailed engineering, civil works construction, and equipment supply, installation and testing of the 275MW Minas San Francisco hydro project. The participants are consortium Engevix-Geodata-Ingeconsult, Consorcio Hidrojubones ( Gas Natural Fenosa, Caminosca, Integral Ingenieros Consultores, Astec) and Asociación Pypsa-Acotecnic, according to Celec documents. The 50-month, US$29mn contract is scheduled to be awarded next month. Celec and Harbin Electric International signed the contract to build Minas in December with operations penciled in to begin end-2015. The US$500mn project, planned for provinces Azuay and El Oro, will connect to the national grid via a 45km line. Components also include a 78m-high dam and three Pelton-type turbines.
