Chile's supreme court upheld a ruling by the Valdivia environmental court that dismissed an appeal by Agricola Ancali against the regional court's decision to reject the environmental resolution for the firm's Frontera hydroelectric project in Biobío region. The supreme court's ruling said that Agrícola Ancali's filing arrived over six months after the deadline.

AES Gener came to an agreement with Chile's northern workers' union on a wage deal. The union covers the firm's operations in the Nueva Tocopilla plant, the SING transmission network and its Cochrane plant.

After almost two years as president of Chile's power coordinator CEN, Germán Henríquez Véliz (pictured) presented his resignation on Thursday due to health reasons. Henríquez's resignation will be effective October 11.
