GPG, an international generation subsidiary of Naturgy, has started the commercial exploitation of the solar plants of Guimarânia I & II after 7 months of construction and almost a month ahead of the contractual program.
With these new parks, GPG consolidates its renewable presence in Brazil with more than 150 MW in solar generation, following the success of the construction of the Sobral and Sertao plants in the state of Piaui last year.
These new plants have involved an investment of more than 95 million euros in a land area of 143 Ha and have set a new record in the execution time of its more than 250,000 panels manufactured in Brazil (29%) and China (71 %)
The expected annual production of the plants is 162 GWh, enough to supply more than 80,000 homes and prevent the emission of almost 100,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere
These plants are associated with a power sale agreement (PPA) with CCEE (Câmara de Comercialização de Energía Elétrica) for 20 years, at an approximate price of € 76 / MWh.
