IN BRIEF: Gamesa names LatAm head, raises funds

Spanish wind developer Gamesa appointed Hipólito Suárez as managing director for Mexico and Latin America, excluding Brazil which is an independent region for the company.

"This region is one of Gamesa's main markets due to its high growth potential. The company has built a significant presence in Latin America, where it has already installed more than 1,500 MW of its turbines," the group said in a statement.

Gamesa also announced it completed a 236mn-euro (US$305mn) share placement, proceeds from which will be used to tap business opportunities in addition to those in its 2013-15 business plan.
