Isolux Corsán, InterChile ink transmission deal

Spanish engineering and construction firm Isolux Corsán signed a partnership agreement with transmission firm InterChile to construct 212km of 500kV transmission lines connecting Chile's Maitencillo and Pan de Azúcar substations.

The project has a budget of US$39mn and an expected completion period of 18 months, a company statement said, adding that works are scheduled to begin in July 2015.

The project is part of InterChile's 753km Cardones-Polpaico trunk line expansion, the statement said, which is designed to strengthen the central SIC grid and is awaiting environmental approval.
