IN BRIEF: Japan to expand LatAm energy footprint

The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) signed an MOU with Latin America-focused multilateral lenders IDB and IIC to strengthen cooperation, particularly in the area of project development.

"The cooperation with the IDB group, including information sharing, will enable the establishment of a speedy and effective support system, with the help, in particular, of the group's abundant experience in financing renewable energy and energy-efficiency projects," JBIC said in a statement.
