Power subsidies for clients in Panama that consume up to 300kWh/month will not vary in 2015.

In a statement, the government said this will benefit some 705,000 residential users, which represent 73% of consumers. The average real cost is US$0.19/kWh, but US$0.16 with the subsidy.

The subsidized cost for clients that consume 301-750kWh will increase to US$0.17 from US$0.16 (average real cost of US$0.22) and to US$0.20 from US$0.16 (average real cost of US$0.26) for those that use over 750kWh.
