InterGen has put its 40,000HP compression station at Altamira port in Mexico's Tamaulipas state into service.
The station will support the transportation of up to 36.8Mm3/d of natural gas in Mexico's pipeline system and provide services to state utility CFE, an InterGen release said.
"This project is one more example of the successful joint efforts by CFE, Pemex and InterGen to address Mexico's growing requirements for sustainable, efficient and clean energy," InterGen CEO Neil Smith said.
InterGen, which operates five plants in Mexico, has more than 2,200MW in installed capacity in the country.
A 220MW combined cycle plant in San Luis de la Paz and a 141MW wind farm being built in partnership with IEnova, Energia Sierra Juárez, are due to come online next year.
In Mexico, the US-based firm also owns and operates other compression stations and a gas pipeline.
