Temporary power solutions provider APR Energy signed an extension through 2Q15 of its supply contracts with Uruguay's state power utility UTE.
APR operates two plants in the country with a combined installed capacity of 300MW, meant to offset Uruguay's dependence on hydro power, an APR release said.
The plants are powered by low-emission mobile gas turbines. APR granted UTE an option to buy two of the turbines at the end of the contract extension period.
APR specializes in providing fast-track power solutions so that clients can have quick access to reliable on-site electricity, the release said.
