Peru's government has granted Hydro Global Perú the definitive concession to develop a transmission line as part of the company's 206MW San Gabán III hydroelectric project in Puno region.

The 22.9kV, 18.9km link will connect the existing San Gabán II substation with San Gabán III's construction zone, the energy and mines ministry said in a statement.

Energy and mining investment regulator Osinergmin reported that rates in the national interconnected system rose by an average 1.57% for residential users and 1.21% for commercial and industrial customers.

The watchdog attributed the variation to an increase of the exchange rate and wholesale price index, and an update of generation prices due to the quarterly liquidation related to contracts between generators and distributors.
