Six groups qualify for Peru transmission concession

Peruvian authorities qualified six companies for a transmission concession that will span the south-central regions of Ayacucho, Huancavelica and Junín.

The potential bidders for the Friaspata-Mollepata project are Abengoa, Celeo Concesiones e Inversiones, Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios, Hubei Hongyuan Power Engineering, ISA and Isolux Ingeniería, according to private investment promotion agency ProInversión.

The 220kV line will stretch 90.5km and act as the principal link between the national grid and the Ayacucho system. Offers are due next month.

Bidding also is underway for transmission concessions Nueva Lurín and Azángaro-Juliaca-Puno.
