Embratel installs network for Brazilian defense ministry

Brazilian long distance operator Embratel has installed a telecommunications network in Haiti for Brazil's defense ministry to use in communicating with its UN peacekeeping troops based in the Caribbean country, Computerworld magazine reported. The network will allow the sending of emails, access to the ministry of defense's intranet and video conferencing. It will be provided in conjunction with international data services company Diginet and satellite provider Movsat Gan and involved installing a 3.6m antenna.
