Eset expects to see LatAm sales growth of 16% in 2012
Slovakian antivirus and security software developer Eset is expecting sales to grow by around 16% in Latin America in 2012, Eset's commercial director for the region, Sebastián Bonta, told BNamericas. Around 20% of the firm's sales in the region are to the consumer segment, while around 40% are in the public sector and 40% the private sector, according to the executive. Eset has several contracts with government and educational institutions in the region, as well as a large number of private sector clients in a range of industries. Brazil and Mexico are the firm's largest markets in the region, followed by Peru, Chile and Colombia, Bonta said. Eset has offices in Argentina, and operates throughout the region via a channel network of approximately 4,000 partners. The company is looking to gain new partners to increase its access to new markets in the enterprise and retail segment, according to channel manager for the Southern Cone and Peru, Maria Florencia Martin. Eset also aims to provide partners in Latin America with knowledge about current trends in IT security through its local malware analysis laboratory in Buenos Aires, which analyzes trends on both a regional and country level, she added. As well as contacting clients, the company uses local content produced in the Buenos Aires laboratory to support sales channels by providing content and after sales services, according to Bonta.
