Microsoft hired the executive Paula Bellizia from rival Apple to be its new Brazil CEO, Microsoft said in a statement.

Bellizia replaces Mariano de Beer in the position, effective July 1. De Beer will lead Microsoft's New Markets Latin America unit, responding directly to Latin America head Hernán Rincón.

Bellizia returns to Microsoft after managing the operations of Apple in Brazil for the last two years. Her previous experience at Microsoft lasted 10 years and ended in 2012.


E-payment giant PayPal has made changes to its top management team in Latin America.

Federico Gómez Schumacher, general manager for PayPal Mexico, has been promoted to director for Spanish-speaking Latin America, while Adriana Peón was appointed SME director for the same region.


Two new VPs have assumed their positions on the board of Brazil's ICT R&D institute CPqD.

Carlos Eduardo Salla is the new finance and management VP, replacing Sebastião Sahão Júnior, while Edvaldo Paro is the new technology VP, succeeding Claudio Violato.


US IT distributor Ingram Micro appointed José Furst as its new director for cloud sales in Brazil.

Furst was partnerships manager at Mexican firm Vorago. Prior to that, he was VP of marketing and channels at Unify and sales manager at Cisco.

Last week, Ingram Micro announced the availability of its Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program for cloud clients in Brazil.


Digital consultancy and research firm comScore tapped Leónidas Rojas as new sales manager for its Chilean operations.

Rojas has over 10 years' experience in the market, having previously held LatAm positions for Microsoft, Euromonitor International and Randstad Corp, among others.
