Argentina Watch: Telefónica unification, Telecom Argentina merger
Spanish group Telefónica will unify as from April 3 its Telefónica, Speedy and Movistar brands in Argentina under the Movistar brand.
While services and plans will be sold under the same brand, the three will remain operationally independent for the moment, Telefónica Argentina said.
Current service conditions will remain in place for every voice, broadband and mobile client. According to the telco, users will continue to receive separate bills for mobile and residential products, but now under the Movistar brand.

Argentina's justice and human rights ministry (IGJ) approved the absorption of telecommunication companies Sofora, Nortel and Personal by Telecom Argentina.
As a result, the three companies ceased to exist as legal entities registered with the IGJ, effective March 21.
At the end of December, telecom regulator Enacom greenlighted the merger of Cablevisión into Telecom Argentina and the approval represents another step towards its conclusion.
