Argentina province to invest US$170mn in roads
Argentina's Mendoza province will invest approximately 3bn pesos (US$171mn) in road projects in 2018.
Governor Alfredo Cornejo said the total investment on public works would next year be around 8.2bn pesos.
This year the provincial government has tendered 50 road projects worth 1.5bn pesos and it expects to double that number in 2018, according to a press release.
"The government can do more works and the companies can and want to work at faster pace. Today Mendoza is besieged with works. And the good thing is that these are not only provincial projects, but also municipal ones. Nobody can doubt that the public works are reactivated," Cornejo said.
The Mendoza government plans next year to carry out 334 projects, 124 of them being new initiatives.
