Mexico's social security institute IMSS pledged a 217mn-peso (US$11.9mn) investment to repair and upgrade hospital infrastructure in Morelos state, where the September 19 earthquake's epicenter was located.
IMSS director Mikel Arriola said the funds will serve to strengthen the structure of Cuernavaca's general hospital No. 1, as well as the building of family clinic No. 20, which is also located in the state's capital.
Other facilities to be rehabilitated include those located in the cities of Cuautla, Zacatepec, and Jojutla.
