São Paulo city holds public hearing for US$1bn street lighting PPP
São Paulo city started on Thursday a public hearing on the terms for a 5.1bn reais (US$1.36bn) street lighting public-private partnership.
"The proposal is a PPP in the modality of administrative concession for modernization, optimization, expansion, operation and maintenance of the public lighting network infrastructure of the city," city hall said in a statement
Under the plan, three lots covering the entire city will be up for auction. International bidders are also allowed to participate.
The public hearing remains open until March 25. City hall plans the auction for the second half of 2019.
