Seven companies are competing to carry out improvement works on the Raposo Tavares highway (SP-270) in Brazil's São Paulo state.
The entire project has been divided into eight lots over 204 kilometers of highway between the localities of Itapetininga and Ourinhos.
Works include the duplication of 50.4 kilometers, recovering more than 153 kilometers of single lanes and shoulders, and build nearly 123 kilometers of third lanes in both directions.
Total reference value of the project is estimated at 935mn reais (US$284mn). Considering lowest price proposals presented for all lots, however, the full cost declines to 628mn reais.
All proposals are currently under review. São Paulo roads department did not unveil which companies submitted bids.
