Itaú Unibanco adheres to UN principles

Brazil's Itaú Unibanco has been included in the list of companies that endorse the Principles for Bank Responsibility, which are sponsored by the United Nations.

The list highlights the work of companies committed to align their business with climate and sustainability goals.

"By endorsing the commitment, which is aligned with the Sustainable Development Objectives and the Paris Climate Agreement, Itaú and the other participants are committed to informing publicly about their impacts, their contribution to society's goals and their progress implementation of the Principles," the bank said in a statement.

The principles were developed by 28 banks on five continents, representing more than US$17tn in assets.
