As part of the Reinforcement and Rehabilitation works of Metro Line 12 , the Head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, announced that this Monday the pre-operational tests of the underground section , which goes from Mixcoac to Atlalilco, will begin.
Once these tests are completed, it is expected that this section, which includes nine stations, will open to the public in January 2023 . It should be noted that the tests to be carried out comply with the recommendations of the Technical Advisory Committee , in charge of issuing the technical standards for the rehabilitation, improvement and reinforcement of this Line.
The purpose of the tests is to familiarize the 70 drivers who have already practiced with the route, as well as to verify the correct operation of the signaling, control, communication and on-board train systems .
Regarding the Reinforcement and Rehabilitation works of the Elevated Section of Line 12 of the Metro, significant progress has been recorded, since 95% of the nearly 33,700 metal parts have already been manufactured; and work is being done on around 80 clearings , of which 16 are already completely finished.
