Ascendant Resources expects to produce about 20,000t zinc at its El Mochito mine in Honduras this year, as throughput ramps up.
The Toronto-based company expects output to reach 6,000t in Q4, up from 4,032t in the first quarter, as throughput rises to 2,200t/d from 1,619t/d over the same period.
The mine is also forecast to produce 6,468t lead and 705,520oz silver in 2017, with output increasing through the year.
Anticipated higher mining rates are dependent on the arrival of additional underground mining equipment. Capex for 2017 is expected at US$16mn.
All-in sustaining costs are expected to fall below US$1/lb zinc equivalent by end-2017.
